I am an English Trainer and Writer based in Malaysia. I have meticulously developed the English language programmes to suit Malaysian needs at the academic and industry level. My training is also suitable for students and workers from other countries who would like to improve themselves in the English language.
Much of the training is heavily geared towards the understanding and building of simple English structures which will enable one to write and speak in confidence. In other words, these trainings adopt a Structural Approach whereby a participant’s understanding of the English language is gauged in Grammar, Vocabulary, Composition, Spelling, Punctuation and Communication. This approach differs from what is taught in our schools and colleges, the Communicative Syllabus which emphasises solely on communication.
The training programmes that I have developed are listed below:
1. ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING (ELT) – 105 hours.
2. BASIC ENGLISH TRAINING (BET) – 14 hours.
3. ENGLISH FOR BEGINNERS – 40 hours.
4. ENGLISH IN THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT (EBE) – 14 hours.
Apart from the above, I have also prepared students to sit for the Key English Training (KET) and Preliminary English Training (PET) examinations conducted by The University of Cambridge ESOL examinations.
I have more than a decade of extensive working experience which I gained from the manufacturing, freight forwarding and hotel industries. At present, I am involved in training staff attached to organisations from the public and private sectors. In addition, I have been engaged by business owners to write company profiles, brochures and pamphlets relating to their products and services.
My other passion is writing on various issues related to education, politics, the English language, etc.
