Talent is the seed of growth in an individual aspiring for greater achievements in his career. Without talent of any kind, an individual is a nonentity. Sure enough, there are individuals with less intelligence in society’s midst. But that is not an indication that they cannot contribute in anyway to society.
Talent that has been trained or schooled in the respective fields of endeavour at higher educational or vocational institutes need to be recognised as the “building blocks” of a progressive society. Without this kind of talent, it will be very difficult for society to move forward and pave the way for others who are less endowed with intelligence to play their roles.
The world has come to a stage where the knowledge economy is THE central activity that furnishes a nation with the necessary “fuel” for growth. To do away with talent is to do away with progress in all its various forms.
